Team and roles
Invite teammates to a RevenueHog workspace, accept an invitation, and understand what owners, admins and members can do, including role changes and removal.
A workspace can have owners, admins and members. Invited people get an email link. Everyone in a workspace sees the same data; roles decide who can change the team and certain workspace settings.
Roles
| Action | Owner | Admin | Member |
|---|---|---|---|
| See all workspace data | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| See the team roster | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Invite people (as member or admin) | Yes | Yes | No |
| Cancel a pending invitation | Yes | Yes | No |
| Change a member to admin, or an admin to member | Yes | Yes | No |
| Remove members and admins | Yes | Yes | No |
| Act on an owner | Yes | No | No |
| Rename the workspace | Yes | Yes | No |
| Change settings marked "Only owners and admins can change this." | Yes | Yes | No |
| Create or revoke MCP tokens and API keys | Yes | Yes | No |
| Revoke an OAuth connection you approved | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Transfer ownership (Make owner) | Yes | No | No |
| Change your own notification rules | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Admins manage members and other admins; only an owner can manage owners. Nobody changes their own role or removes themselves through these controls. Owners cannot be demoted directly. To hand a workspace over, an owner selects Make owner on another member (web: Settings → Team; iOS: tap the member on the Team screen). After confirming "Make email the owner? You will become an admin.", that person becomes an owner and you become an admin. The promotion happens first, so the workspace always keeps an owner even if the second step fails.
If a person holds several roles, RevenueHog treats them as the highest one.
Settings → Team
Owners and admins see: "Invited people get an email link. Admins can manage members and other admins; only an owner can manage owners." Members see: "Who's in this workspace. Ask an owner or admin to make changes."
Invite someone
Enter an email
Type the address in teammate@company.com. It is lowercased.
Pick a role
Choose Member or Admin.
Send
Select Invite. The invitation appears in the list as "Invited · hasn't accepted yet" with a pending pill. Select Cancel to withdraw it.
The invitee receives an email naming the workspace, the inviter and the role, with a link to /accept-invitation/<id>. If the email fails to send, the invitation still exists.
Manage a member
Each row shows the email, name and a role pill (you marks your own row). For people you can manage, a role menu switches between Member and Admin, and Remove removes them immediately. In the iOS app, tap a member for Make admin or Change to member and Remove from workspace ("They'll lose access to this workspace immediately. This can't be undone.").
Accepting an invitation
The link opens Accept invitation. What you see depends on your state:
| Your state | What happens |
|---|---|
| Signed in | Select Accept invitation to join. |
| Not signed in, account exists for the invited email | Log in with that account's password, then Log in and join. |
| No account for the invited email | Choose a password (at least 8 characters) and select Create account and join. The account is created already verified, because the link proves you own the email. |
After joining you land in that workspace. You also keep your own workspace.
| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| This invitation has already been accepted. | Already used. |
| This invitation was declined. | It was rejected. |
| This invitation was canceled by the workspace. | An owner or admin canceled it. |
| This invitation has expired. Ask for a new invite. | Ask the inviter to send another. |
| This invitation is invalid or has expired. | The link is wrong or the invitation was removed. |
| Wrong password for this account. | The password does not match the invited account. |
