Quickstart
Connect an App Store Connect API key, run your first sync and see revenue, subscribers and live events in RevenueHog. No SDK is required for any of it.
This page takes you from a new account to a populated dashboard. You need an App Store Connect account with access to Users and Access, and about five minutes.
What you need
| Item | Where to find it |
|---|---|
A .p8 private key | App Store Connect → Users and Access → Integrations → App Store Connect API. Apple lets you download it once. |
| Issuer ID | The UUID at the top of the same Integrations page. |
| Key ID | The 10-character ID listed next to the key you created. |
| Vendor Number | App Store Connect → Payments and Financial Reports. Required for revenue and subscription reports. |
A key with the Sales or Finance role is enough for every revenue number. Broader roles unlock more; see API key roles.
Selling outside the App Store?
You can start with Stripe or Google Play instead. A connected Stripe account counts as set up, so a Stripe-only workspace never has to pass through the App Store key step. See Connect Stripe and Connect Google Play.
Steps
Create the API key
In App Store Connect, open Users and Access → Integrations → App Store Connect API and generate a key. Pick Sales or Finance for read-only revenue, or App Manager if you want RevenueHog to set your server-notification URLs for you. Download the .p8 file and keep it somewhere safe.
Upload it in the setup wizard
After sign-up, RevenueHog opens the setup wizard at step 1, Apple key. Fill in issuer id, key id and vendor number, choose the .p8 file, and press Save & sync →. The key is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM and never shown again.
Watch the import
Step 2, Apps · import · S2S, shows the import live: connecting, discovering your apps, importing them, then pulling daily revenue and subscription reports. App names stream in as they import.
Point Apple's notifications at RevenueHog (optional)
When the import settles, the wizard checks where each app's App Store Server Notifications currently go. Select the apps to change and press Auto-config N apps…, then confirm. Any URL Apple was already posting to is saved as a forwarding destination, so your own server keeps receiving every event. This needs a key with the App Manager or Admin role; with a read-only key you paste one URL per app instead. See Server notifications.
Finish
Step 3, Forwarding, is optional. Press Finish setup → to land on the dashboard.
For every screen and message in the wizard, see Setup wizard.
Verify it worked
- The overview lists your apps with net revenue and unit counts for the last 14 days.
- Settings → Connections → App Store Connect shows the key ID, the date it was added, and the KEY CAPABILITIES matrix for your key's role.
- If you wired notifications, each app's page shows PRODUCTION and SANDBOX as RevenueHog under S2S CONFIGURATION. Press Send sandbox test to confirm a notification arrives.
No revenue after the import?
Revenue and subscription reports need a vendor number. Without one, the sync still imports your app list and finishes with "Imported N apps. Add a vendor number to pull revenue." Add it under Settings → Connections and save.
What happens next
- A full sync runs every day at 08:07 UTC and re-pulls the last 7 days of reports.
- New apps are discovered five more times a day.
- Real-time events arrive as Apple sends them, once notifications point at RevenueHog.
- Choosing an older date range on the overview pulls missing daily reports on demand, back to the 365 days Apple keeps at daily grain.
