Time zones

How RevenueHog draws day boundaries for the feed, today so far, the digest and quiet hours from your time zone setting, and why store reports use calendar days.

Every "day" you see in the live product, such as the feed's day dividers, today's net revenue in the header and the daily digest, is cut in your own time zone. Store reports, by contrast, are dated by the store.

Your time zone setting

Your time zone is a per-person, per-workspace setting: Settings → Notifications → Quiet hours → Timezone. The same value drives:

  • Day dividers in the live feed (TODAY, and dates).
  • "Today" totals in the header and on each app page.
  • Start of today, this week (Monday) and this month for metric windows.
  • When the daily digest is sent (your digest hour in this zone).
  • The quiet hours window.

The default is UTC. The first time you register the iOS app for push, RevenueHog seeds the setting from your phone's time zone, but only if you have never set it. Travelling with your phone never changes it afterwards, so history does not get redrawn. Change it any time from the picker.

UTC in the Americas

With UTC, "today" rolls over in the late afternoon or evening across the Americas and reads $0.00 until the next sale. Set your real zone to avoid this.
