Troubleshooting
Error messages you can see in RevenueHog across sign-in, credentials, Stripe, Google Play, Apple Ads, teams and the MCP server, and how to fix each one.
Find the message you see, then apply the fix. Messages are quoted as the app shows them.
Sign-in and accounts
| Message | Fix |
|---|---|
| Too many attempts. Try again in a minute. | Wait 60 seconds. Sign-in, sign-up, password and verification requests are limited to 10 per minute per IP. |
| Too many attempts, wait a moment. | Same limit, from a settings form. |
| Wrong password for this account. | On an invitation page, use the password of the invited account, or reset it. |
| That is not the email on this account. | When deleting your account, type the exact account email. |
| You are the only owner of ... | Remove the other members of that workspace before deleting your account. |
| Invalid origin | Sign in from revenuehog.dev or app.revenuehog.dev. |
Not receiving a verification or reset email? Check spam, then request it again after a minute.
App Store Connect
| Message | Fix |

| Upload your .p8 private key file. | Choose the .p8 file. |
| That isn't a .p8 file. Download the API key from App Store Connect. | You picked another file type. |
| That file isn't a valid .p8 private key (PKCS#8 ES256). | The file is damaged or not an App Store Connect key. Create a new key. |
| That file is too large to be a .p8 key. | Pick the right file. |
| Issuer ID and Key ID are required. | Fill both fields. |
| That doesn't look like an Issuer ID. It should be a UUID. | Copy it from the top of the API keys page. |
| Key IDs are 10 characters (letters and numbers). | Copy the ID next to your key. |
| Vendor numbers are digits only. | See Payments and Financial Reports in App Store Connect. |
| Saved, but couldn't start a sync. ... | The next scheduled sync runs it. |
| Capability matrix shows no rows and asks you to confirm the IDs | Apple returned 401. Recheck Issuer ID, Key ID and the .p8; the key may be revoked. |
| A row shows MISSING | The key's role lacks that access. Use a broader role or accept the gap. See API key roles. |
| Add a vendor number to check report access. | Add the vendor number. |
| No imported app to probe against yet. Re-check after your first sync. | Wait for the first sync, then Re-check. |
Stripe
| Message | Fix |

| Paste a restricted key (rk_live_...). | The field is empty. |
| That is a secret key. RevenueHog only asks for a restricted key. | Create a restricted key in Stripe, Developers, API keys. |
| That is a publishable key. RevenueHog needs a restricted key (rk_live_...). | Use a restricted key. |
| That does not look like a Stripe restricted key (rk_live_... or rk_test_...). | Copy the whole key. |
| This key needs the Events read permission. | Edit the key in Stripe and add Events: Read. |
| This key needs Charges read. | Add Charges: Read. |
| This key can't read payouts. Add Payouts: Read to the restricted key in Stripe. | Add Payouts: Read. |
| The key works, but it cannot read your account id. ... | Paste your acct_ ID from Stripe, Settings, Account details. |
| That does not look like a Stripe account id (acct_...). | Copy the ID that starts with acct_. |
| Signing secrets start with whsec_. ... | Copy the signing secret from the webhook endpoint. |
| Pick a start date for the history import. | Choose a date or another import option. |
| Expired API Key provided | The key was rolled or expired in Stripe. Paste a new one. |

Google Play

| Paste the service account's JSON key. | Paste the full JSON file. |
| That isn't valid JSON. Paste the whole key file Google Cloud downloaded. | Copy the entire file. |
| That JSON isn't a service account key (its type must be service_account). | Create a service-account key, not an OAuth client. |
| The key is missing its client_email or private_key. | Download a fresh key. |
| The service account's private key could not be read. | Download a fresh key. |
| Add at least one package name. | Enter your app's package name. |
| No notification yet. Finish the steps below, then press Send test notification in Play Console. | Complete the Pub/Sub setup and send a test. |
| The current user has insufficient permissions. | Grant the service account access in Play Console. |

Apple Ads

Connections in general

Team and workspace

MCP server

Data looks wrong

| Revenue for the last days is missing | Apple reports settle 1 to 3 days late. | Wait. Check Data freshness. |
| No live events | Server notifications are not pointed at RevenueHog. | See Server notifications. |
| Feed proceeds differ from reports | Feed amounts are estimates from the customer price. | Set the Small Business toggle; reports stay authoritative. |
