Notification preferences

Reference for every RevenueHog notification setting on web and iOS: event toggles, per-app switches, minimum amount, quiet hours, sound, grouping and sandbox.

Notification preferences are stored per person, per workspace. The web page Settings > Notifications and the iOS screen Settings > Notifications edit the same record. Changes save instantly; on the web a failed save shows Couldn't save. Change reverted. and restores the previous value.

If you have never changed anything, you get the defaults below. Nothing is stored until your first change.

New reviews (iOS)OnA roundup push of new App Store reviews.

Defaults and per-app switches

The event switches exist at two levels:

  • Workspace defaults are what a newly discovered app inherits. In the iOS app this is Defaults for new apps.
  • Per app, each app keeps its own copy of the seven event switches, plus a single Push notifications switch above them. Silencing trial starts for a noisy free app leaves every other app as it was.

In the iOS app, open Settings > Notifications and pick an app under per app to edit its switches. On the web, the PER APP group has one switch per app that mutes or unmutes it entirely. A mute set this way still silences the app even if it has no per-app switches yet.

An app with no saved per-app switches uses the workspace defaults. Switches added later (App review, TestFlight) fall back to the defaults for apps saved before they existed, so they never read as off by accident.

Rules

SettingOptionsDefault
Only alert when (iOS: Only alert on purchases ≥)No minimum · all purchases, ≥ $1.00, ≥ $5.00, ≥ $10.00, ≥ $25.00, ≥ $50.00, ≥ $100.00No minimum
Quiet hoursOn or off, with a start, an end and a timezoneOff, 22:00 to 08:00
MRR milestonesOn or offOn

The minimum applies only to money coming in: purchases, renewals and conversions. Setting one also makes qualifying alerts time-sensitive (see Push alerts).

Quiet hours

Quiet hours suppress every alert in the window, milestones included. The window starts at the start time and ends just before the end time, and can wrap past midnight (the default 22:00 to 08:00 does). A start equal to the end means the window never applies. Times are in half-hour steps on the web.

The timezone is an IANA zone such as America/New_York. The same timezone sets when your daily digest is sent. In the iOS app it is set under Settings > data > Timezone ("Used for quiet hours & daily digest").

Sound and delivery

SettingOptionsDefault
SoundCha-ching, Blip, Chime, Register, Harp, System sound, SilentCha-ching
GroupingBy app (each app's alerts stack together), By event type (purchases, churn, refunds stack separately), All together (one stack)By app

Sounds play on your phone; the web cannot preview them. System sound is your device's standard alert tone. Silent delivers the alert without a sound. Grouping controls the iOS notification thread.

Sandbox

SettingDefaultWhat it controls
Sandbox in feedOffShows sandbox (test) events in the live feed.
Sandbox alertsOffSends pushes for sandbox events.

Data

Count cancelled trials as active (default off) counts trials whose auto-renew was turned off but have not expired in active-trial metrics. It changes numbers, not notifications.

Digest

The DIGEST group holds the daily summary settings. See Daily digest.

iOS-only states

The iOS notifications screen shows banners above the settings:

  • Alerts are paused, "Subscribe to turn them on": the workspace has no active Alerts subscription. Tap Subscribe.
  • Push disabled in iOS Settings, "Alerts below won't fire until enabled": tap Enable.
  • Push setup failed: the device could not register. Tap to try again.

API

The settings are saved with PUT /api/mobile/notification-preferences and a partial JSON body. Unknown keys are rejected with unknown preference: {key}, and each value is range-checked (for example digestMinute must be 0 or 30).
