Notifications overview
Every way RevenueHog tells you something happened: push alerts on your phone, the daily digest, MRR milestones, Slack channels and forwarded webhooks.
RevenueHog can tell you about revenue events in four places: push notifications on the RevenueHog iOS app, a once-a-day digest push, Slack channels you choose, and your own server through webhook forwarding. Each channel has its own rules, and they do not share settings.
Channels at a glance
| Channel | What it sends | Who configures it | Requires the Alerts subscription |
|---|---|---|---|
| Push alerts | One push per event (purchase, renewal, trial, conversion, churn, refund, App Review status, TestFlight feedback) | Each person, for themselves | Yes |
| Daily digest | One push a day with the numbers you pick | Each person, for themselves | Yes |
| MRR milestones | A push when organization MRR crosses a round number | Each person can turn it off | Yes |
| New app and new review pushes | A heads-up when an unconnected app sends events or new apps are discovered, and a roundup of new App Store reviews | Each person, for themselves | No |
| Slack | Reviews, in-app feedback, purchases, churn, milestones and TestFlight posts to channels | Shared by the workspace | No |
| Webhooks | Apple's exact signed server notification, re-posted to your URL | Per app, shared by the workspace | No |
Push notifications are per person
Push rules belong to one person in one workspace. When a teammate changes their rules, yours do not move, and nothing on the Team screen changes anyone's alerts. You can edit your rules in two places, which write the same stored preferences:
- On the web at Settings > Notifications.
- In the iOS app at Settings > Notifications.
See Notification preferences for every option.
Push delivery needs the iOS app
Alerts are delivered to your phone, not the browser. Install the RevenueHog iOS app, sign in, and the app registers your device for push. The DEVICES card at the top of Settings > Notifications on the web lists every registered device and has a Send test push button.
The Alerts subscription
Visible push notifications for events, MRR milestones and the daily digest are the one paid part of RevenueHog: RevenueHog Alerts, an auto-renewable subscription bought inside the iOS app ($4.99/mo or $39.99/yr, US list prices). One subscription unlocks alerts for everyone in your workspace. Everything else, including the web dashboard, the live feed, metrics, customers, Slack and webhook forwarding, is free and never a percentage of your revenue.
What happens without it
Nothing on the web is gated. Without the subscription you do not receive event pushes, milestones or the digest. Your rules are kept and take effect the moment a subscription is active. See Billing.
Some pushes are free because they are onboarding or housekeeping, not alerts:
- The New app detected and New apps discovered pushes.
- The new App Store reviews roundup.
- The test push from Send test push.
- Silent background pushes that keep the app and widgets fresh. These show nothing on screen and do not need notification permission.
